Ten Commandment Tour a Commanding Success       posted on 06 Apr 2005 by AVIDD news team

Phase I Tour Summary

First phase of AVIDD’s (American Veterans in Domestic Defense) tour with the Ten Commandments monument has now been successfully completed. Phase II continues in the planning stage.

On July 16, 2004, AVIDD, under the project name of AMERICAN VETERANS STANDING FOR GOD AND COUNTRY, signed and agreement with former Chief Justice Roy Moore to tour America with his famous 5,280 lb Ten Commandments monument.

On July 19, 2004, AVIDD removed the monument from the dark room of the Alabama state supreme court building, brought it into the light of day, loaded it on a flat bed truck, and has now toured 21 states with 164 tour stops. We had originally planned 100 tour stops, however because of the high demand we extended the tour to a grand total of 164.

In general we had two types of tour stops; one type consisted of a rally with three speakers scheduled, a veteran, a civic leader, and a spiritual leader. Other tour stops were primarily a viewing experience.

It is estimated that more than a million people have, for the first time, viewed this monument. Millions more have again seen the monument on television or in newspapers.

The rallies have been a remarkable experience with almost unanimity of agreement with Judge Moore and his patriotic constitutional stand.

There seems to be 4 major reasons why Americans were so pleased to see the monument in person:
1) The Ten Commandments are the foundation of our moral law (do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother, etc.)
2) Americans know Judge Roy Moore and admire his stand
3) It is a beautiful piece of art - 5,280 lb of solid granite with statements of our founding fathers on all four sides. (It is note worthy that the media never mentioned the historic quotations on all four sides)
4) The veterans involvement, - people were pleased to see the American Veterans involved in this God and Country issue.

Project director, Jim Cabaniss said, “I have never been involved in anything that had such unanimity of agreement”. Less than 20 individuals showed up to protest the project’s major goal - to highlight the constitutional right to place 10 Commandments any place within the boarders of our great country. It is our firm convections, based on 164 rally experiences, that 85% of Americans believe the 10 Commandments should be placed anywhere within our boarders, while 10% have no strong feelings, but would not object. This leaves 5% who may have genuine objections.

This was a big project for the veterans but as we get more support and get to be ‘big boys’ we will do some big things like impeaching some judges who are acting outside our constitution.

Join AVIDD and support us as we plan phase II and implement other project dealing with our domestic enemies.

Ten Commandments Monument Tour Update       posted on 27 Dec 2004 by AVIDD news team

AVIDD, along with numerous Volunteers, is taking the offense in a major Project to expose the famous 10 Commandments Monument to all America. On July 19, 2004 AVIDD, under the project name American Veterans Standing for God and Country, veterans signed an agreement with former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore to take possession of the famous Monument.

Our purpose was to remove the beautiful monument from a dark room of the Alabama Supreme Court building and rally throughout America. We have now completed 98 rallies in 15 states. The reception has been outstanding. There is strong evidence that Americans are deeply concerned with unconstitutional activities on the part of federal Judges. Our Judicial System is failing its duty and is running roughshod over our Christian heritage.

You must have noticed the Supreme Court has now decided to hear two 10 Commandments Cases one in Texas, one in Kentucky. We take some credit for this decision. It is no coincidence that the court made the decision just 2 months after the veterans became active in the issue.

The Supreme Court decision will be a landmark decision. It will be precedent setting. The question is, whether or not the 10 Commandments can be placed on property owned or controlled by our government at any level, federal, state, city, or county.

The public media often asks us, “why is this issue so important?” We say 1) The 10 Commandments are the foundation of our moral law 2) The 10 Commandments are the clearest and most powerful presentation of Fatherly wisdom ever handed down by God to benefit all mankind.

We are growing as a Veterans force. We now have membership in 32 states. We need all 50 states won’t you join us and get your friend to join.

Belated Merry Christmas to all!

Ten Commandment Monument News Release posted on 19 Jul 2004 by AVIDD news team

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 19, 2004

Most Americans remember the scene at the Alabama State Supreme Court Building on August 27, 2003. On that day, Federal Authorities instructed men in black dress to remove the 2½ ton Ten Commandment Monument from the beautiful rotunda to a dark storage closet. This made most Americans angry.

Today we are moving the Monument out of the darkness into the light. The American Veterans Standing For God and Country have reached an agreement with Judge Roy Moore to take possession of this beautiful monument and display it across America from city to city on its way to our Nation’s Capital. Most Veterans have great respect for Judge Moore. He is a Veteran, a West Point Graduate, a great Constitutional and Biblical Scholar.

He stood on his oath, even to the point of giving up his job as the top Judicial Authority in the state of Alabama. We know there’s something wrong in America when an appointed federal judge has the power to tell a dually elected State Supreme Court Judge that he cannot acknowledge God and thus fulfill his oath of office.

Starting today, Veterans will support rallies from coast to coast by displaying this Ten Commandment Monument from coast to coast. Those Veterans wishing to join in this cause may post their comments and offer their assistance at www.StandingforGod.org or by calling American Veterans in Houston at 281-591-4705.

Salute to Judge Roy Moore         posted on 15 Jun 2004 by AVIDD news team

Most Americans know Judge Roy Moore as the Ten Commandment Judge. Those who know him best know him to be a West Pointer, war veteran, a constitutional scholar, biblical scholar and great American patriot.

More importantly Chief Justice Roy Moore, in his stand on the 10 Commandment issue, has demonstrated a willingness to honor his oath to uphold our constitution even if it cost him his job as the top judicial decision maker for the state of Alabama. When he ran for public office he promised the Alabama people he would take this stand. He kept his word.

Some may argue that once the final appeals were exhausted he should have obeyed the law. After all “we are a nation of laws”. Our sovereignty as a nation and as an individual demands that all laws passed by congress must be constitutional. Court judges have no authority to deviate from congressional laws. If they do, it is unconstitutional and not enforceable. All veterans know that a command, rule, or law is not enforceable if that law violates our constitution.

Judge Moore believes, and we agree, that the Federal judges ruling against his belief in God and Alabama’s right to display the 10 Commandments was not constitutional. 1.) Judge Moore points out that all three branches of government Publicly recognize God and 2.) The 1st Amendment clearly says, “Congress can make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”

Then if congress, which is the only makers of laws under the constitution, cannot make a law restricting religious activities, then the federal judge in this case, Myron Thompson, had no law to judge. It is evident in reviewing this case that Myron Thompson used his “hocus pocus” magic wand to do a non-constitutional act. Alas! When others ignore the Constitution we loose our sovereignty as a people.

It is interesting, no startling, that those suing Judge Moore has their legal fees subsidized by our federal tax dollars. Judge Moore was made responsible for his legal expenses. The Southern Poverty Center, ACLU, and Americans for Separation of Church and State filed the suite against Judge Moore. How do they earn our tax dollars for this purpose?

Another sovereignty shock is how an appointed federal judge can unseat an elected Chief Justice in the State of Alabama. Alabama is a sovereign State under the constitution. In fact, article 4 section 4 of the constitution says, “the United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them from invasion and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature can not be convened) against domestic violence”. Isn’t Myron Thompson, a Clinton appointee, a domestic enemy of the state of Alabama, since his action was unconstitutional?
Wake up America … our activist judges are ignoring our constitution. How many battles can we loose before we loose the war?

4 Letter Words posted on 16 Mar 2004 by AVIDD news team

When I grew up in the south, in the forties, if I used a nasty four-letter word and my Father or Mother found out about it I was in deep trouble. When I went into the military I was exposed to people who were several classes ahead of me in the use of nasty four-letter words. Now the whole nation is bomb barded with offensive four letter words -- from television, movies, rap music, hip-hop etc. The latest craze is college students at sporting events yelling vulgar four-letter words at the competition, which a few years ago, would have been considered poor sportsmanship.

To put things into perspective we offer the following statement to expose the ignorance of those who habitually use vulgarity. To illustrate this poor vocabulary we have dramatized the extreme with some fairly common flamboyant words.

And in plain English it says, “those who use bad four letter words highlight a small vocabulary.”

One who habitually uses egregious four-letter words expose evidence of an abridged vocabulary and an inferiority complex while falsely exposing a fictitious air of pompousness.

Eulogy for General Raymond G. Davis                     posted on 08 Sep 2003 by AVIDD news team

We have lost a great American Hero. Not many human beings reach the heights of achievements in ones chose professions, as did Raymond G. Davis. He was one of America’s great soldiers. As a young marine lieutenant he led ground troops in World War II. As a Colonel he led ground troops in Korea. As a general he lead the 3rd marine division in Viet Nam. Before retiring from active military service he became a 4 star General. General Davis became one of our most decorated American Soldiers. He was awarded the congressional Metal of Honor, the Navy Cross, 5 presidential citations, 15 campaign ribbons, 2 silver stars, a bronze star, and the purple heart. What a record of dedicated service to his country.
